A keyword or a focus keyword as some call it is any search term entered on Google (or another search engine) that has a results page where websites are listed.
It’s the search word on which you like a certain page to rank.

Keywords are search terms that a website owner or SEO specialist would use to refine a website in the hopes of appearing at the top of Google’s results for unique keywords.
